N2  - Die digitale Geschäftstransformation forciert Unternehmen regelrecht, grundlegende sowie neue Fähigkeiten zu entwickeln, um weiterhin wettbewerbsfähig zu bleiben. Unter anderem auch in der Supply Chain. Die Integration digitaler Anwendungen in diesem Bereich ist aller-dings äußerst mangelhaft. Aus diesem Grund wird zunächst der aktuelle Grad der Digitalisierung von global agierenden Unternehmen eruiert. Als ein weiteres Ziel dieser Arbeit wird die Erreichung einer nachhaltigen Wettbewerbsfähigkeit hinsichtlich einer Supply-Chain-4.0-Integration anhand der Theorie der Business Capabilities untersucht. Dazu wird die Forschungsfrage wie folgt definiert: „Was lässt sich fundiert über den Grad der Digitalisierung von global agierenden Unternehmen in ihrer Supply Chain sagen und welche Rolle spielt dabei das Business Capability Manage-ment?” Um die Forschungsfrage erfolgreich beantworten zu können, wird ein theoretisch-konzeptio-nelles Vorgehen angewendet. In Verbindung mit der Methode der konzentrischen Kreise wird eine umfassende Literaturrecherche ermöglicht. Die Auseinandersetzung mit der Literatur zeigt auf, dass die Anwendung der Digitalisierung in diesem Bereich in einer Vielzahl neuer Business Capabilities mit weiterführenden positiven Auswirkungen resultiert.
N2  - The digital transformation in business has forced companies to develop both fundamental and new skills to remain competitive. Among other things, also in the supply chain. However, the dissemination of digital applications in this field has been extremely poor.For this reason, the current degree of digitalization is first examined in companies with a global footprint. An additional goal of this work is to examine the achievement of sustainable com-petitiveness in regards to Supply Chain 4.0 integration using the theory of business capabili-ties. The research question is defined as follows: "What can be said about the degree of digi-talization of global companies in their supply chain and what role does business capability management play in this?" To answer the research question successfully, a theoretical-conceptual approach is applied. In connection with the method of concentric circles, a comprehensive literature research is made possible. The examination of the literature shows that the application of digitalization in the supply chain results in many new business capabilities, as well as positive impacts.
