  • Not least since the pandemic, scientists have agreed that working from home will remain an integral part of the work environment. The corona crisis has shown how important skills such as digital know-how and self-organization, as well as an open corporate and participatory management culture, are for the success of working from home. In the master's thesis, using the example of Vorarlberg, the research question is to be clarified, which requirements must be met for working from home and how working from home affects employees with and without managerial responsibility in the everyday work and private life, taking into account socio-demographic moderators. To answer the research question, the findings from literature and research were examined by means of a quantitative research in Vorarlberg. The empirical results reveal that the requirements are largely met in Vorarlberg, but some, such as the ergonomics of the home office or training in dealing with decentralized work, are still improvable and that home office is rarely agreed in individual contracts. Nevertheless, the employees in Vorarlberg are overall satisfied with working from home and, above all, see productivity and reconciliation of private and professional life more positively than when working onsite.
