  • Supply Chain Management in companies has been strongly efficiency-driven in recent years and is increasingly facing challenges due to the change of the business environment into a so-called VUCA world. In order to deal with the challenges and sustain supply chains, more and more companies are focusing on "resilience" as a new strategic alignment. As both the internal and external Supply Chain Management processes are dependent on IT, Business-IT-Alignment is an area that is strongly affected by a strategic realignment of Supply Chain Management. The aim of the master thesis is therefore to answer the question of how a strategic realignment of Supply Chain Management from efficiency to resilience affects the Business-IT-Alignment of companies. The question is answered by applying a theoretical-conceptual approach. The results of the research and methods have shown that all six dimensions of Business-IT-Alignment - strategy, processes, infrastructure, platforms, application and services - are affected by a strategic realignment. However, modern IT organizations are already on a good way to support the requirements of a resilient strategic alignment. In addition, the importance of cooperation between the business departments and the IT department has increased significantly in order to be able to react more effectively in the event of disruptions.
